Background

The Yemen Pandemic Preparedness and Response Project is a partnership between the Government of Yemen’s Ministry of Public Health and Population (MOPHP), Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries (MAIF), civil society organizations, and three Implementing Entities (IEs) including FAO, UNICEF, and WHO.  The Project is supported by a $26 million grant from the Pandemic Fund and will leverage an additional $82 million in co-financing and $6 million in co-investment to support Yemen’s efforts in building its capacity in preparedness and response.

Background

The Suriname Public Health Emergency Response Effort is a partnership between Suriname’s Ministries of Health (MOH), Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, the Medical Research Institute, National Crisis Coordination Response Center (NCCR), Anton de Kom University of Suriname, civil society and community organizations, the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and PAHO/WHO (as Implementing Entity). The Pandemic Fund supports the Project with a $2.2 million grant. The Project is expected to bring in an additional $3.3 million in co-financing.

The Pandemic Fund grant of $15.4 million supports a partnership of Mongolia’s Ministries of Health (MOH), Finance (MOF), Food and Light Industry (MOFALI), and Environment and Tourism (MOET) to build capacity to prevent, prepare, and respond to health emergencies using a One Health approach.  UNICEF and WHO will be the Implementing entities (IEs). The Pandemic Fund grant will leverage an additional $12 million in co-financing.
