The Pandemic Fund

Anne-Claire AMPROU is the French Ambassador for Global Health and, since April 2022, the French negotiator of the international agreement on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.

Daiho Fujii, Deputy Vice Minister for International Affairs (IDA Deputy), assumed the current position in July 2023 after serving as Director of Planning and Administration Division (2022 -2023) and Director of Development Policy Division (2021 -2022) of the International Bureau. Prior to these, he served as Director in the Tax Bureau (2020 -2021, in charge of international tax policy, 2019-2020, in charge of Research). He worked at the World Bank as Alternate Executive Director for Japan from 2013 to 2017.

Carrie Lehmeier is the Deputy Director of Infectious Diseases and Pandemic Preparedness within Global Affairs Canada’s Global Health and Food Systems Bureau. She is responsible for GAC’s investments and engagement in combatting infectious diseases as well as supporting pandemic preparedness. 

Syarifah Liza Munira is a health economist currently serving as the Director General, Health Policy Agency at the Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia. Her interest and expertise spans across a range of public health issues including global health systems, pharmaceuticals and vaccines, tobacco control, behavioral economics, and innovative financing.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Taking place on the eve of the High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Preparedness, Prevention and Response (HLM on PPPR), this event will mark the Fund’s achievements in its first year, while underscoring the need to maintain the momentum and the urgency to scale up pandemic PPR investments in low- and middle-income countries.

Dr. Angela Gichaga is a public and social sector enthusiast with experience working across civil service, consulting, and NGOs and academia.

She is an executive coach, human capital and leadership development advisor with regional and global expertise, as well as an exceptional track record of optimizing performance. Angela runs her tailor made Pathway to Parity programme to empower women and young people in the workplace and society.

As the Deputy Chief of Global Advocacy and Policy in AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), Loretta is responsible for the development of HIV and other global public health strategy and policies for 45 countries around the world. 

Mohamed Hassany serves as the Health Minister's Assistant for Projects and Public Health Initiatives at the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in Egypt. He is also an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases and Hepatogastroenterology at the National Hepatology and Tropical Medicine Research Institute (NHTMRI) in Cairo. Additionally, he holds the position of Executive Director of the National Committee for Control of Viral Hepatitis (NCCVH), MoHP, Egypt.
